Connecting ECU Manager to ATmega1284p via Virtual COM Port in SimulIDE

Hello!
I am trying to connect an external ECU Manager software to an ATmega1284p running inside SimulIDE (with preloaded ECU firmware).

Warning: Simulator::addEvent Repeated event SerialPort-8-eElement

Is it possible to route the MCU's UART through a virtual COM port bridge (like com0com) so the external software can communicate with the simulated chip?
Currently, I am getting some simulation/buffer errors. Has anyone successfully achieved a similar setup? Any advice on configuring the Serial Port component or Baud rates for this would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi.

Yes, Is it possible to route the MCU's UART through a virtual COM port bridge (like com0com).
Just check that everything has the same configuration: baudrate nº bits, etc.

I would do a simple test first to check that everything is working, for example a serial echo firmware.
Then try with the more complex stuff.

I tested an echo transfer on a simple project AT2313. It transmits a few messages, but then I get an error.

For every message I send, I get this answer:
