359__WAVE EDGE DETECTOR

359_WAVE EDGE DETECTOR. (Simulide R2220 or Higher).

This example aims to capture the rising and falling edges of a regular positive signal (0-5V) and display them on two LEDs, one for each edge. The signals it supports are: Sinusoidal, triangular, saw and square). Using the [SELECTOR] switch the wave type is selected. The four waves are generated in separate oscillators, in which the frequency can be varied, as a base from 1 to 10 Hz, but the limits can be changed in the configuration of the oscillators.

SCHEME:

The scheme is based on the LM324 integrated circuit (four opamps inside). Two are used as comparators to detect signal levels: Less than 0.4V and greater than 4.6V. The outputs of these are applied to the RS inputs of the flip-flop configured by two other opamps. At the outputs of the Flip-flop there are LEDs that will show when the input signal is on the rising or falling side. A logic adder is applied to the two outputs of the level comparators to see the pulses that activate the inputs of the flip-flop. This adder is made with two diodes. The wave signals can be selected using the SELECTOR switch, these signals can be varied with the respective potentiometers and their characteristics can also be adjusted in "properties" of the subcircuit.

SUBCIRCUITS:

This example integrates several subcircuits located in the "data" folder into the ZIP attached. This folder must always be next to the "sim1" scheme so that it can be executed. A subcircuit is a “custom” circuit that accumulates a set of Simulide base components (primitive function) to obtain a new or an adapted function. These subcircuits are treated by Simulide as another component of its own structure. User can create his own subcircuits or use the ones published here in your own designs once the procedure is known, explained in detail in the Simulide tutorials: https://simulide.com/p/subcircuits/
