Inserting a Voltage Source between Two Nodes

Hi,

I generated 10V, say node ‘Vgate’, above the battery voltage, say node ‘Vbat’, to supply an N-MOSFET gate driver. Its switching circuit slows down the simulation of the controller.

To create the ‘Vgate’ node (without its circuit), I followed the following workaround:

Between ‘Vbat’ and ‘Vgate’, I added a large capacitor (say 1 kF) with initial value of 10V.
I did it this way because I couldn’t find a floating voltage source (having two terminals).

Hi.

You can use a Battery or a Controlled Source (unchecking "Use Control Pins).

Ooops, I forgot that a battery is simply a voltage source having two terminals, Sorry.
